Every spring, fifth grade students from all over the Ferndale School District have gone to overnight camp as a celebration of their time in elementary school and as a final bonding experience before they move on to middle school. Skyline students go to Camp Killoqua, where they get to learn about the outdoors and try activities like canoeing, archery and climbing.
For many years, Washington State Legislature had funded this experience, and students were able to attend camp at no cost to them. As of this year, that grant is no longer available.
