We are excited to present six excellent clubs this Spring! They will delight, entertain and enrich, and provide an opportunity to build community at Skyline.
| STANDARD CLUBS: Standard clubs are provided by a member of the Skyline PTO. Discounts of 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% are available for those who need them. Discounts are funded from the Skyline PTO. | PREMIUM CLUBS: Premium clubs are provided in partnership with outside organizations. Discounts of 25% or 50% are available for those who need them. Two scholarship spots are available per club: email clubs@skylinepto.org for a scholarship. Discounts and scholarships are funded from the Skyline PTO. |
MONDAY AFTERNOON
| RÍTMO & ESPAÑOL (RHYTHM & SPANISH)(Grades 1-5)When: 4/13 – 6/1 | Mondays until 4:45pm7 sessions (No 5/25)Instructors: Lourdes Medina and Marta HerreraWhere: Room 8Cost: $35 (Standard Club) About: What do piñatas, lotería and Ballet Folklórico have in common? Ms. Lourdes Medina and Ms. Marta Herrera will be showcasing elements of Mexican culture for students in this exciting after school club. Students will dress in traditional outfits, play games, learn some new dance moves and Spanish language! It will be lots of fun! No experience required. This is a multicultural club and everyone is welcome! | ART JOURNALING CLUB(Grades 2-5)When: 4/13 – 6/1 | Mondays until 4:45pm7 sessions (No 5/25)Instructors: Ronni Hoekema and Kayleigh ButenschoenWhere: Red SolariumCost: $35 (Standard Club) About: Art Journaling Club is a creative, relaxed space where students explore self-expression through color, collage, drawing, and words. Each week, students will work in their own journal using fun mixed-media supplies while building confidence and creativity. No art experience needed, just a willingness to create and have fun! |

THEATER IMPROV (Grades 3-5)

Students will learn improvisation basics, play games with friends, and create their own unique worlds and situations. The sky’s the limit! Improv is a great way for kids to build confidence and trust in others in a safe and supportive environment. |
THURSDAY AFTERNOON
| AFTER SCHOOL DANCE PARTY (Grades K-3)When: 4/16 – 6/4 | Thursdays until 4:45pm8 sessionsInstructor: Tara Reiter (Instructor at Unique Technique Dance)Where: Room 8Cost: $80 (Premium Club) About: After School Dance Party is a fun and creative movement class that incorporates a wide range of dance styles while listening to varying genres of music. We will skip, jump, play games and make fun dances! Students will be encouraged to step outside their box by bringing their own individual style, personality, and choreography to their movements. Together we will create a dance that is to be performed on the last day of class for parents. | CERAMICS CLUB: Multiple Projects (Grades 1-5)When: 4/16 – 6/4 | Thursdays until 4:45pm8 sessionsInstructors: Jesse Hughs (owner of Valley View Pottery) & Lindsey ParkerWhere: Red SolariumCost: $80 (Premium Club) About: This hands-on course is another opportunity for Ceramics with Valley View Pottery! Students will create at least two pieces of their choosing – bowls and a creature. They will learn the properties of clay and the process of creating their own pieces. All under the expert guidance of local artist Jesse Hughs, whose pottery shop can be found in downtown Ferndale. |
FRIDAY AFTERNOON
ANIMAL LOVERS CLUB (Grades 3-5)
| When: 4/17 – 6/5 | Fridays until 4:45pm 7 sessionsInstructors: Tamar Lieb and Laurie BiancoWhere: Music RoomCost: $35 (Standard Club) | About: Calling all animal lovers! Students participating in this club will get to learn about many different topics related to caring for and helping animals, and will get to meet a special weekly animal guest from the Whatcom Humane Society and other organizations. We will also plan a group service project to benefit animals in our community. |
We are open to volunteers for some clubs this Spring. Think about whether you are able to volunteer for a club that your child signs up for. It can be a lot of fun and really helps make the clubs run more smoothly.
