PTO Mission

The Skyline PTO is an all-volunteer organization.
Any parent or legal guardian with a child enrolled and attending Skyline Elementary willing to promote the organization's objectives, to uphold its policies and to subscribe to its bylaws is qualified to be a member of the PTO. Membership is also open, on the same terms, to any administrator, faculty and/or staff member of Skyline. There are no membership dues.

The Skyline PTO is organized for charitable and educational purposes with its primary objectives being:

• To promote the welfare of children and youth in Skyline Elementary School.

• To develop between teachers and parents of Skyline Elementary such united efforts as will secure for every child the highest advantages in mental, physical and social education.

• To bring into closer relationship the home and the school, that parents and teachers may work cooperatively for the education of the child.

• To raise funds to help in maintaining equipment and supplies where needed, as well as funding activities that enhance the Skyline learning environment (e.g., field-trips) that are not already funded by the school system.

Message from the President

Hello Skyline Parents, Students, and Staff!

Skyline
Elementary School's PTO Board welcomes you to the 2009-10 school year. If you are a Skyline student, a parent or family member of a student, or on the Skyline staff — you are part of the Skyline PTO. We are not a dues-based organization. You're already a member. But if we're going to make the Skyline experience the
best it can be, we need you to be an active member.

Our PTO theme this year is, "Our Children, Our Community, Our Future"

Our mission this year is,
to partner with the Skyline community to enhance academics, enrich opportunities and encourage the teachers and students.

Part of achieving our goals requires fundraising. Fortunately, continued community support, and a financially successful annual Walk-a-Jog-a-Thon (WAJAT, we limit our fundraising efforts to this one major fundraiser in the Spring, and focus on what is truly most important: being there for our kids. We ask you to get involved by sharing your gifts, resources, talents and leadership.  We are a volunteer organization.  It takes all of us working together to make our school special and to instill the sense of community that can turn ordinary into extraordinary.  On behalf of the Skyline PTO, we ask each of you — moms and dads (as well as grandparents, guardians and others) — to choose at least one event or project to take an active role in during the coming year. Whether in the classroom, on a field trip, at a planned event or helping with the office or library — Skyline and your kids need you!

Please mark your calendar to join us for our regular PTO meetings, which will be held in the school library from 7:00-8:45 p.m. on the First Monday of most months (check out our Web site calendar or the Skyline reader board for exact dates).
Free childcare with planned activities is provided.

We are all busy people, but the PTO board does it — and we ask you to join us — because
they’re our kids!
